mwcaMārtanda (mwcqdevanagari: मार्तंड, mwcgIAST: Mārtanda) è una divinità della mwcwreligione vedica. È identificato nel mwdamwdqRigveda come l'ottavo mwdgĀditya, le divinità solari figlie di mwdwAditī e mweaKaśyapa.cite-ref-nehra-1-0[1]

Mārtanda rappresenta il mwfgSole morente, ovvero il sole del mwfwtramonto dopo che è sceso al di sotto della linea dell'orizzonte.cite-ref-2[2] Etimologicamente, il termine deriva dal mwhasanscrito mwhqmārta, ovvero "morente", termine connesso con il verbo mwhgmri, "morire".

Nell'mwiainduismo moderno, il dio è perlopiù assimilato alla principale divinità solare mwiqSūrya. Ad mwigAnantnag, nello stato indiano di mwiwJammu e Kashmir, si trova un tempio dell'VIII secolo d. C. dedicato a Mārtanda.
